Social Justice Co-op of Newfoundland and Labrador

The Social Justice Co-op is a grassroots, non-profit, community co-op, dedicated to speaking out for social justice at home and abroad. It brings people and agencies together around a variety of issues such as fighting climate change, racism, colonialism, food insecurity, and poverty, just to name a few.

All of these efforts take place under the co-op’s “Revolution of Care,” fostering friendships between activists, caring for each other, being generous, and creating community.

Socials 4 Justice, Challenging Car Culture, the Transformative Justice Working Group, and the Zero Waste Action Team, are just some of the projects organized by the co-op and its members.  If someone has a cause dear to their heart, they can find like-minded folks at the co-op for discussion, education and perhaps creation of a new action plan.

About the Author:

I love radio and pursue stories about people and communities working together to solve challenges creatively and often, with a lot of heart. It's the human side of the co-op model that intrigues me. That and any chance to travel, especially to smaller locales, where folks seem to know that co-operating just makes good sense!
