From the Archives: Start UP! Your Class Co-operative

This is an episode of our From the Archives series, where shows that got lost in our private archives now get their chance to shine. Because of the changing nature of time, some information may be outdated.

In this episode we tell you everything you need to know about the Start UP! Your Class Co-operative, a BC based, non-profit, teachers’ cooperative. With a focus on curriculum and resources for teachers early in their career, their purpose is to ensure teachers with a new assignment are prepared and confident when they begin.

To learn more about the details around this co-op, we talk to:

Christine Dalzell – A recent graduate of SFU’s Professional Development Program and new teacher, who has taken part in the co-op’s programs, and published author of children’s books!

Ray Myrtle – A former teacher in the Burnaby School District and former president of the Provincial Intermediate Teacher’s Association for 8 years, now founder and instructor for the co-op!
