“Good Food & Community” is what the Muskoka North Good Food Co-op is all about. This multi-stakeholder co-op is located in Huntsville, Ontario and boasts more than 1,700 proud member-owners with more people joining every day.
It’s a one-stop shop for fresh, local and healthy fare, supporting farmers and producers in the region and across the country. You can have a terrific meal at the Uproot Community Cafe or have the team cater your special event. There’s also a community kitchen, edible garden patio space, resources to support good food learning and prepared meals to nourish seniors. It works hard to stem food insecurity and hunger in the community and provides a welcoming space for all.
To build greater resilience within the local food system, the Co-op now has two Growcer Modular Units (made in Canada) to grow and process fresh greens all year round.
General Manager Kelli Ebbs fills us in on all the co-op is doing to build community, always putting people before profit. Have a listen.
