We sit down with outgoing interim executive director of the BC Co-op Association, Andrea Harris, to hear her thoughts on the sector, its strength during COVID and its future. It was great to hear some recent co-op success stories, including food co-ops whose local supply chains were not disrupted during the pandemic. My heartfelt thanks for Andrea for guiding the BC Co-op Association these past 18 months. It is not an easy organization to manage and it seems to be on an exciting new trajectory. Kudos Andrea! Visit the BC Co-op Association website for the latest news on co-ops in BC.
In the latter half of the show, we catchup with Corey Mohr, Community Development Coordinator, for NorWest Co-op Community Health. NorWest continues to receive national attention for its impactful, innovative community health programs. Their programs address many issues for those vulnerable in their community, including health care, child care, counselling services, and even food assistance. NorWest continues to innovate with new vaccine hesitancy campaigns (check out the link below) and food services.
