Brave Technology Co-op Wins $1 million to Help Drug Crisis

Congratulations to Vancouver based Brave Technology Co-op. Brave is one of four winning proposals to Ohio’s Opioid Technology Challenge. Each winner receives one million dollars to develop their idea for the comericial market.

Desjardins Launches Cooperathon to Tackle Social Issues

Desjardins announced the fourth edition of the Cooperathon (CO-OP-RA-THON) for October 2nd. The event will take place at Montreal’s Olympic Stadium. It’s a place for changemakers to workshop entrepreneurial projects with strong potential for social impact. The best ideas go into a 28 day semi-final round to further develop the ideas. On November 20th the winning ideas will receive grants and funding totalling one hundred thousand dollars.

The Cooperators Partners to Provide Mental Health Support for University of Regina Students

The Co-operators have partnered with University of Regina students to provide better mental health support. The support comes through the Crisis Text Line powered by Kids Help Phone. When students text “UofR” to a special number they’re connected to a trained volunteer. In 2018, The Co-operators supported the first Crisis Text Line university pilot at the University of Guelph.
