Each For All: The Co-operative Connection began airing on Victoria’s CFUV radio in May 2006. We started as a project of the British Columbia Institute of Co-operative Studies (BCICS) with the blessing of its director, Dr. Ian MacPherson. The idea was pretty simple; take Co-operative Studies to the airwaves. We wanted to tell co-operative’s stories, examine the co-operative sector, and share the knowledge with the widest possible audience.
The BCICS project was coordinated by Robin Puga who also co-hosts. BCICS alumni Eryk Martin, Lindsay Kearns, and Colin Dower were among the early producers and hosts.
In October 2008, Each For All underwent a reinvention. With producers and hosts moving and finding new employment the Each For All project was wrapping up. The BCICS made the recommendation that the core group of hosts form an informal collective to continue producing the show independently. The first seven seasons of the show are attributed to BCICS and used on this website within their Creative Commons license. Sadly, the BCICS closed its doors forever in 2014.
Robin Puga began airing Each For All on Vancouver Co-op Radio (CFRO) on February 7th, 2008. The show continued to explore co-operatives through profiles and interviews, and expanded its scope to explore topics across the Social Economy.
In 2014, Dale McGladdery joined the collective and brought a wealth of ideas and enthusiasm to revitalize the show.
Today the Each For All project continues through the volunteer efforts of its hosts and producers. We continue to examine the social economy, share stories, and mobilize information about co-operatives. We strive to make it a community-lead project of which the BC Institute for Co-operative Studies would be proud.
