Doing Politics Differently – BC Green Party Leader Sonia Furstenau

Each For All is pleased to profile politicians committed to working across party lines in a collaborative way to better the lives of the people they serve. Past shows have featured Independent MP Jody Wilson-Raybould and former Independent MP Jane Philpott.

In this episode, we speak with Sonia Furstenau, MLA for Cowichan Valley and BC Green Party Leader.  She says we need our politicians to be “deeply human” and hopes the Premier “asks for help” so that all 87 MLAs can bring their ideas and solutions to the very serious issues facing British Columbians.

Furstenau also shares her recipe for creating resilient and connected communities like the Cowichan Valley, where co-operation and collaboration thrive (e.g., Cowichan Biodiesel Co-op and Cow-Op)

Have a listen.

About the Author:

I love radio and pursue stories about people and communities working together to solve challenges creatively and often, with a lot of heart. It's the human side of the co-op model that intrigues me. That and any chance to travel, especially to smaller locales, where folks seem to know that co-operating just makes good sense!
