- The Kootenay Co-op Opens New Store
The Kootenay Co-op has opened their new Nelson store. When they ran out of space in their old store the Kootenay Co-op made a bold move. They acquired an entire city block in downtown Nelson. The co-op not only tripled their store space, they also build 54 condo units, and 8 storefronts. The new complex is named “The Nelson Commons”.

Small business owners rank Credit Unions the best. The Canadian Federation of Independent Business surveyed over 11,000 small business owners. The results were released in their “Battle of the Banks” report. Credit Unions ranked number 1.
