About this episode

This is an episode of our From the Archives series, where shows that got lost in our private archives now get their chance to shine. Because of the changing nature of time, some information may be outdated.

Umbrella Multicultural Health Co-operative is a member-driven not-for-profit health services organization. Their members are people who face barriers to health care due to their language and culture.

To learn more about these barriers and what the co-op does we talk to Camilo Cortes, a founding member of the Umbrella Co-op. Until recently, Camilo served as the Umbrella Mobile Clinic (UMC) Coordinator and is now a volunteer of the same project.  Camilo believes in the power and flexibility that small local groups possess and loves to create and dream projects that may not be feasible for larger organizations.
